Explorer Plug-in
The Explorer plug-in displays the folder-tree within an EmEditor sidebar, allowing you to easily access your files without having to leave your workspace.
The Explorer plug-in makes it easy to navigate the file systems and allows you to do many operations against files. Initially, all of the files on the Desktop are displayed as a tree. You can explore the tree by expanding folders. You can click on a file to open it with EmEditor. If you want to open a file as read-only, or with another encoding, right-click on the file, and click Open as Read-Only or Open with Encoding.
You can direct a folder to be the root folder. For instance, suppose you are working on a project that is below a folder called “OutlineText”. Right-click “OutlineText”, and select “Make this Root”. Then you will see only the files in this folder. Click “Desktop as Root” to restore the original Desktop. If you want to exclude certain file types, you can display the Exclude Filter. To do this, right-click anywhere in the tree, click View, and then click Exclude Filter. You can specify unwanted file types by using a star mark before the extension. For instance, if you don’t want to display .bmp and .aps files, you would type *.bmp;*.aps.
If you want to display only certain file types, you can display the Include Filter. To do this, right-click anywhere in the tree, click View, and then click Include Filter. You can specify the file types you want to display the same way as in the Exclude Filter. You can also specify whether or not to display hidden files and the Desktop files. By default, single-clicking on a file opens that file. If you want double-clicking to open files, right-click the Explorer button, select Properties, and clear the “Single-click to open an item” check box.
