To correctly find CR only lines, please use Find in Files (not normal Find), click the “>” button next to the File Types, and select “Current File”.
Then check Use Regular Expressions, and find:
\r(?!\n)
This will find all files with CR only.

I think you were looking at the correct message of 2 years old. This “Do you want to terminate the current tool job?” message appears because the previous external tool job has not been finished before you try to start the next external tool job. If you can’t finish the previous job, you can disable this message by adding the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EmSoft\EmEditor v3\Common
PromptTerminateJob
REG_DWORD: 0

The reason is v14 includes the Outlining and other properties which use more settings. These settings are stores in the INI files if you use the portable version. If you are placing emeditor.exe in an USB drive, you might want to copy emeditor files into a hard drive, and run EmEditor from the hard drive.
However, we still encourage using the installer whenever possible. EmEditor runs faster in the installed version (using the Registry).

If you have assigned keyboard shortcuts (especially macros and/or plug-ins), EmEditor becomes slower.
If you don’t mind, can you reset all configuration properties. The easiest way is go to “Define Configurations” dialog box, and click “Reset All”.

I reproduced the issue with the Outline with narrowing, and I will fix this in future versions.

For this purpose, a macro is the best way to go. You can record a macro (Right 4689 times, and press Return), and then “Run with Temporary Options” with repeat count 130K or more.
