You can replace text only in the selection by using (JavaScript):

document.selection.Replace( "find", "replace", eeReplaceSelOnly | eeReplaceAll );

For the “find”, please use EmEditor v14.6.0 beta 18 or later, and you can do this:

document.selection.Find( "find", eeFindNext | eeFindReplaceSelOnly );

I addressed this issue (Find/Replace options) on beta 13. You can clear an individual item in the Find drop-down list by pressing ALT + DELETE while an item is selected.

• Ctrl+A now selects the whole document except the headings.

I don’t think it is easy to if the function name is not in the same line as “begin”. You might find the Projects plug-in’s Symbol List more useful than the Outlining.
