skyParticipantThanks for the update.
skyParticipantYes, the issue has been resolved in the latest preview version (22.9.909).
skyParticipantThis problem started with EmEditor v22.9.901 on Windows 10 64-bit.
EmEditor v22.5.2 is OK.When tested on another computer running Windows 11 64-bit, the same problem was found.
The other computer was using the portable version and was tested with all default settings, except that DirectWrite was disabled.
skyParticipantThank you very much, this new feature is really great!
Here’s a small issue, the steps for reproduction are as follows:
1. Open EmEditor.
2. Enter a few characters, for example: ABC.
3. Enable WebPreview plugin. (Plug-ins menu => WebPreview)
4. Enable Web browser (View menu => Web browser), WebPreview will be automatically disabled.
5. Enable WebPreview plugin again.
6. Enable Web browser again, then the Web browse window will freeze. If the positions of WebPreview and the Web browser are different, there won’t be any issues.
For example, if WebPreview is set at the bottom and the Web browser is on the right.June 29, 2023 at 7:15 pm in reply to: Is it possible to automatically remove old installation files? #29289skyParticipantI found that there is another folder” \ProgramData\Emurasoft\EmEditor\updates\” which only keeps the latest installation file.
skyParticipantI also look forward to being able to have the filtering toolbar remember previously strings without having to press Enter.
However, upon consideration, directly remembering everything can pose issues.
For example, if the input is “Test”, would it record “T,” “Te,” “Tes,” and “Test” as four separate strings? Not to mention longer strings. If we take a different approach, if there could be an option to set a time values.
For instance, if the user finishes typing and takes more than 5 or 10 seconds to browse the filtered results, then the input could be recorded.
Would this approach be feasible?June 2, 2022 at 7:56 pm in reply to: “Count Matches” display incorrectly in the split window. #28244skyParticipantEmEditor v21.7.911 with Win 10 64bit
The “Search All Documents in the Group” option is disabled.skyParticipantAfter testing, the problem occurs if one of these two plugins is installed.

skyParticipantskyParticipantskyParticipantskyParticipantSuppose you can disable “Auto Copy” in “Tools-Customize-Edit” page.
Auto Copy check box
This option allows you to copy the selection automatically to the Clipboard without selecting the Copy command (CTRL + C). While the Auto Copy mode is on, the selection will be copied to the Clipboard immediately before the selection is deselected or deleted, immediately before the active document is switched, or the editor loses the keyboard focus.skyParticipantI wait for 10 minutes and then shut down the computer, and I use portable version with all default settings to reproduce the issue.
After several tests, I think this problem start since v18.5.0 or v18.5.91.1. Find “ABC”
2. Select “Escape Sequence”
3. Replace with “ABC\n”
v18.4.0, total 100,000 strings were replaced in 0.078 seconds.
v18.5.0, total 100,000 strings were replaced in 0.078 seconds.
v18.5.91, will be no response.4. Find “A”
5. Select “Escape Sequence”
6. Replace with “ABC\n”
v18.4.0, total 100,000 strings were replaced in 0.156 seconds.
v18.5.0, will be no response.
v18.5.91, will be no response.skyParticipantBoth v20.1.901 and v20.1.1 have the same problem.
The progress dialog box did not appear.Windown 10 system can use “End task” via task manager, but Windows 8.1 have to force shut down the computer.
skyParticipantAnother problem, here is an example to reproduce this issue:
Text file: 1 line “ABC” x 100,000 times = ABCABCABCABC….
1. Find “ABC”
2. Select “Escape Sequence”
3. Replace with “ABC\n”
Windown 8,1 system will be no response unless force shut down the computer (press the Power button for a few seconds). If select “Regular Expressions”, it is OK.

skyParticipantIt seems the “Advanced Filter dialog box” use the same hint message.
Now the “Advanced Filter dialog box” will show “Paste multi line text here, or click ‘Add to batch’ ”
But it don’t have the “Add to batch” button.skyParticipantUpdate, use Ctrl+I(Character Code value) on any characters will be crashed after EmEditor v20.0.904…
