Sorry, I did mean Replace.
I have a block of text selected, click on the Replace icon so the Replace window opens – ‘In the selection only’ is greyed out and I can’t select it.
It’s a facility which I use a lot and it has gone missing in the latest version.
I’ve put a screen shot at http://www.magray.co.uk/test/search.JPG

raydParticipantThat option was ticked, but sound still didn’t work.
I uninstalled and reinstalled EmEd and configured it using my presaved settings and sound now does work.
Don’t know why, but thanks for the help.

raydParticipantI’ve got a similar problem – but with the Notification Tray area.
Fresh install of EmEd 9 on a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit.
Under EmEd 8 I had an EmEd icon in the Tray which offered me a menu of opening options when I clicked on it.
With EmEd 9 clicking on the Tray icon and New opens TWO EmEd windows. One in the saved position and one centre screen.
How can I remove EmED from the Tray and then put it back again or, how do I stop it opening two windows.
If I pin EmEd to the Task bar, it only opens one window but doesn’t give me the menu options of how to open.
Many thanks,

raydParticipantThank you very much for that – saved in case of another reinstall being necessary!

raydParticipantIs there any way of saving settings of previous versions when installing new RC versions?
It was fine with beta versions which didn’t require an uninstall of the previous one but having to uninstall previous RCs means all my setting and configurations are lost.

raydParticipantAs long as there isn’t a blank line between them, selecting two or more lines and pressing CTL+J joins them.
I use this extensively for formatting text which has Returns at the end of each line.

raydParticipantThanks webern.
I’ve done that and it now works.
How do I assign a key to a particular macro? I called my macro LineSelect and EmEditor has assigned F4 to it. However, looking at keyboard shortcuts, it has assigned f4 to ‘Run Macro’ – which seems to be the selected macro.
If I have two or more macros, how do I assign keyboard shortcuts to them individually so that each will be run on its own shortcut and not have to go through the process of selecting them so that F4 will run them?

raydParticipantThanks webern. I think I made the macro correctly – at least it contains you text in a .jsee file
But, it gives the error ”eModeStream’ is undefined’ when I run it.
Any ideas?
Although the Help file says macros can be created as files in EmEditor Pro, it doesn’t tell you how to do it. I did it by Running Macro, copying your text into a text file, and then Run Macro again.
‘Edit macro’ gave something completely different, so I copied your text into the macro file and saved it – getting the above error when I try and run it.

raydParticipantThanks a lot webern – brilliant!

raydParticipantYes it does start with a defined quote mark. I have actually used a form feed (pagebreak) character so that I can highlight the pagebreak line. The only other characters on that line are spaces and a page number at the far right.
The quoted line highlighting works – just not the line width, which wraps at the normal line width.
The reason I want the quoted line width to be higher than the normal is because the pagebreak character adds an extra character to the line.
I am using EmEditor to edit braille text files. The lines are 30 characters long and have a hard return at the end of each. The page number is right justified on the same line as the pagebreak – ie 31 characters including the pagebreak. All characters apart from the pagebreak are ASCII.

raydParticipantIs it possible to remove those two blank characters and have the outside colour start at the right matgin?
I produce braille pages which are 30 characters wide, with a CR/LF at the end of every line. To make sure I don’t exceed the 30 characters, it is useful to have the outside bit greyed. At the moment, I have a 2 character white band before the grey which rather negates the usefulness of the outside colour.
Ray D
raydParticipantFor some reason, this puts the colour 2 characters outside of the right margin setting.
I set the right margin to 30 characters and the outside colour starts at 32.
Is this correct behaviour?
