Yutaka,
I have just used this technique to write a snippet/macro that changes curly quotes (single and double), sort and long dashes into their equivalent keyboard characters.
In the past I have had to do this as a series of “Find and Replace” tasks. Now its a simple highlight the text and click on the snippet.
Thank you very much for the tip.

Thanks for that. The snippets seem to become sorted if you use the “Properties” menu option to modify a folder. It has happend several times since re-installing EmEditor on my Netbook.
By the way, I use HTML5 as my default “word processing” document type. I have developed a snippet folder (and sub folders) which have a sub-set of the HTML5 tag set and a “template” blank document. Is it worth sending to you to include on the EmEditor website’s Library?

PeterpjaParticipantCrashNBurn,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes I have seen these new settings and I know you can drag snippets up and down the list. However, the dragging solution is not permanent. Close down EmEditor and restart it and the snippets are back in sorted order – very frustrating.
What I am after is a “NO SORT” option. I have resorted to numbering snippets to get around the problem – very tacky! :-x
If I’m not doing this correctly, then any help in using these settings would be appreciated.

PeterpjaParticipantHi!
Can you tell me whether the option to sort/not sort snippets has been added to EmEditor yet?
If not; do you have any idea when (if) it might be added?
Sorry to nag about this feature but I (and I guess other serious snippet users) would find this useful. :-?
Regards,
PeterpjaParticipantNumbering the snippets looks very ugly; adding a “no sort” option to a future release would be very nice thank you :-D

PeterpjaParticipantYutaka,
Thank you for your quick reply.
I was not aware how easy it is to include JavaScripts into toolbar buttons – this is really neat!
Your reply got me Googling and I have now come up with a (IMHO) really neat script with a nicely formatted date.
Thanks again,
Peter :-DpjaParticipantDon’t bother with this request; I’ve worked it out.
In case it is ever asked by another user the solution is:
From the “Tools” main menu item select “Properties for All Confogurations”.
From the “All Confogurations” dialogue select the “Association” tab.
Tick the “Enable Association” box.
Bingo! Em now detects various file types.

PeterpjaParticipantWebern,
Thanks for your very quick reply. I was hoping that the snippets were stored in a file which would make it easy to convert a clip library I use in another editor to EmEditor snippets.
Using a file would be a good future enhancement.

Peter :-(pjaParticipantCheers! That would be most appreciated.

Hi! Thanks for that. C and definitely C++ are probably a bit beyond me these days. Is it possible to have additional features added to the standard HTML toolbar over time and when you get time. I am happy to help specify and to help with testing; even documenting if needed.
