@Yutaka_Emura ,
> I think search favorites should be saved in the [>] button menu.
▲ Sorry I don’t get it. I don’t see any history/favorites item in it. How to save one into it? Do they have titles?> if you have suggestions for Markers, please let me know. I will probably enhance Markers in the future.
▲ Thank you. I’ll do it when I finished on recent topics/issues.By the way, could you make the forum RSS 100% reliable?
I missed some (single) feeds occasionally (rarely).LTTParticipantv19.4.0.
It suddenly occurs to me this is just why some commands I need are not included, which I thought was by design before.
I will never know if I don’t reset my menu. So maybe you should check them all over to see if there are more missing.The items below (in the default TrayIconMenu(1) ) are not in the “Commands” list for “Tray Icon”:
Open Workspace
▲ Open this one’s properties and you can see that the list content is actually for “Jump List”.Save Workspace
Save Workspace As
Recent Workspace—————
List of New Configurations
▲ This one has a space at the end.—————
Suggestion:
Some apps (e.g. Beyond Compare) add recent workspaces into Jump List, along with the recent files.
It’s even more convenient.
And they can be pinned.LTTParticipant@Yutaka ,

Is there any opportunity to have “EmEditor grabbing EmEditor” again?
Thank you.—————
rammichael.com/textify
Textify can “grab” Chrome (via Chrome APIs).
But it cannot edit or return the text.Is it possible to implement “EmEditor grabbing Chrome” via Chrome APIs?
LTTParticipant▲ Hope the Find toolbar will also have this behavior.
LTTParticipant>Suggestion 1 is not easy because of the compatibility issues with older version.
Currently,
4459 <=> 22528
4471 <=> 22529
4476 <=> 22530
And the 3 old commands (on the left) still works.
So it’s compatible with older versions.What I suggest is just like the above.
Currently 22527 is not used yet, isn’t it?
So let 22527 be the duplicate of 4472, and let 4472 still work.
How about that?—————
Suggestion 3:
+ Import/Export CSV formats in Customize:CSV dialog.—————
A new issue:
Customize: CSV:
Copy/Paste commands do not work in “CSV Formats” list.LTTParticipantIs it possible to implement the two suggestions?
LTTParticipantThe buttons (to switch the different CSV modes) in the CSV/Sort toolbar.
The suggestions are for the toolbar(s).LTTParticipantThank you for the great enhancement.
Works very well so far as I’ve tested.A display issue:
Switch to a CSV format whose Delimiter is more than 1 character.
** If the window is not wide enough, the delimiter in the view “changes” to the 1st character with a newline mark. **Suggestions for CSV toolbar:
Besides the macro Remove method, add a “Remove” menu item for the format buttons.
+ Option: Add rows when not fit. (And hope Markers and other toolbars will also have this option.)October 24, 2019 at 11:54 am in reply to: Bookmarks removal after renaming/moving of a textfile #26247LTTParticipant@Yutaka,
Bookmarks are important to some extent.
But I feel RecentFileList is not a suitable/reliable place to store bookmarks:
▲ Not all the items in RecentFileList need bookmarks.
▲ The items in RecentFileList could be flushed away when one opens many files at a time. (See also: the 2 in: https://www.emeditor.com/forums/topic/open-save-options/ )
▲ A crash could mess up the bookmarks sometimes (due to the changed order).Suggestion:
Save bookmarks separately from RecentFileList.
If so, I don’t have to keep a very long RecentFileList.—–
And let me link a relevant thread here:
https://www.emeditor.com/forums/topic/history/LTTParticipantv19.1
The new version shows a message box to ask whether you want to remove the item from the recent file/folder list when a file/folder did not exist when you tried to open it from the recent file/folder list.Thanks for this change.
However, if the file is moved/renamed outside, to rescue the bookmarks, I have to move/rename the file back manually, and then do the move/rename inside EmEditor…
Please enhance the message box and let us redirect the path inside EmEditor.
Or please add a macro method to modify such paths.
(I even miss the days when RecentFileList was saved in the registry, where the paths could be modified easily.)—–
And same suggestions on macros.LTTParticipantStill hope this suggestion will be considered.

▲ Searches like this won’t work, unless “Additional Lines to Search for Regular Expressions” is not 0.But I don’t think such searches should depend on this setting.
August 10, 2019 at 2:36 am in reply to: If possible to insert sequential number in CSV/TSV mode #26087LTTParticipantMy steps are not quick enough, but a macro or Excel won’t be more convenient/flexible as far as I know.
(Use “Quick Launch” if you can not find the commands used below.)TSV mode.
Select column 1 (by clicking the Column Header above the Ruler).
Copy it. (“Copy Column(s)” command also can be used, when the selection is not the whole column(s).)
Paste it into a new tab.—————
Now in the new tab:Find:
^(.+)\n(?!\1)(.+\n)
Replace with:
\1\n\n\2
▲ To insert an empty line between each two groups.TSV mode.
Select the 2nd (empty) column (by clicking the Column Header above the Ruler).Numbering: (Enable these 2 options)
Skip Empty Lines.
Restart Numbering after Empty Lines.After the numbers are added, press “_”.
Delete column 1. (Now only the number_ column remains.)
Use “Remove Empty Lines” command.
Select the column (by clicking the Column Header above the Ruler).
Copy it. (Or use “Copy Column(s)” command.)—————
Now go back to the previous tab:TSV mode.
Position the caret after the 1st tab character. (= before “Mini…”)

LTTParticipantSample:

In the current version, the result selection includes only the lower “A” line.LTTParticipant3:

Remove “&” in “&File” menu.
I can still use Alt+F to open the “File” menu.

I hope the menu bar can be shown by pressing and releasing Alt key.LTTParticipant3:
Open several tabs.
Open Snippets bar.
Ctrl+Enter to edit a snippet in a tab.
Switch to another tab (X).

The snippet tab also closed.

Is it possible to prevent the tab switching?LTTParticipantFind in Files:

July 17, 2019 at 8:52 am in reply to: Multiple-line string as a search string in the Find/Replace dialog box #25983LTTParticipantIf your Extract Option is “Display … Lines …”, EmEditor displays only the first line of each match in the search result.
Though “Number of Additional Lines Above/Below Matched Lines” option can be used, the additional lines are displayed with the same format.I think the Extract function is mainly for single-line/string extracting.
You can submit suggestions if you need to extract multi-line text.July 9, 2019 at 6:10 am in reply to: Always save when closing any preexisting file without a prompt #25969LTTParticipantI think you are seeking the “Save and Close” command.
For more convenience, you can:
– Give it a shortcut key;
– Make a toolbar button for it; (The default macros are good examples.)
– Put it into a menu.By the way, use “Keyboard Map” (e.g. type “close save” in it) and you can find more by yourself.
July 8, 2019 at 9:01 am in reply to: How to replace everything from the top to the string desire including new lines #25966LTTParticipantHello jic,
If this topic is not resolved yet, try this macro:
(Here I’m only talking about multi-line replacing, according to your macro. Actually you can use other way to achieve the result, e.g. by moving cursor and deleting the unwanted part via the macro.)document.selection.Replace(“^”, “> “, eeReplaceAll | eeFindReplaceRegExp);
document.selection.SelectAll();
editor.ExecutePlugin(“Snippets.dll”, eePluginUserMessage, 0, “$0${SelText/[\\s\\S]* on behalf of /\\n/}”);http://www.emeditor.org/en/history_v15_5.html
The new ExecutePlugin method allows you to call plug-in features from within macros. This allows, for example, a snippet feature temporarily even when the Snippets plug-in is not running. See “Examples to call plug-ins from macros” below (in the page).http://www.emeditor.org/en/macro_editor_editor_executeplugin.html

The common way for multi-line replacing (that I know, and that you used) would be verbose. And I failed for this reason:The line begins with ** in this page:

https://www.emeditor.com/forums/topic/advanced-search-options/July 8, 2019 at 6:53 am in reply to: Multiple-line string as a search string in the Find/Replace dialog box #25964LTTParticipantWell, it’s just continuous text, if you have to use “cohesive”.
Multiline mode is just for viewing/editing clearly, when the term in single-line mode includes “\n” and makes one dizzy.
CTRL+ENTER is just for entering a newline character in that box. (= \n)
CTRL+ENTER is not for triggering the search.You surely can use CTRL+ENTER at the end, if you want to search for a term that ends with a newline character(s).
In the box is just continuous text.
It’s not a list for searching 2 or more terms simultaneously.
Compare it with “Advanced Filter” feature in Filter toolbar.July 7, 2019 at 7:47 am in reply to: Multiple-line string as a search string in the Find/Replace dialog box #25962LTTParticipantGreat! According to your video, I think you’ve grasped almost anything!
The failure was because you enabled “Treat CR and LF Separately” in “Advanced”.
Read the last sentence at the bottom of this page:
http://www.emeditor.org/en/howto_search_search_nl.htmlLet’s see if Yutaka will optimize the Multiline mode:
https://www.emeditor.com/forums/topic/advanced-search-options/#post-25961I suggest you reset the Advanced options.
Use them only when needed.LTTParticipant4:
Enable “Treat CR and LF Separately”.
Open Find box and enable Multiline.
Input two or more lines.
** Cannot find it with either of the three options:
(None)
Regular Expressions
Escape SequenceBecause \r is not added automatically.
I think it should be optimized somehow. - AuthorPosts
