This was necessary to make certain commands such as Insert Column Right/Left command work without issues. Do you still need to disable this option? If not, I might remove this option on the next major version. Thank you.

I don’t want the cursor position to be moved casually.

It should open the Context menu.2:
When in a CSV mode, right-clicking in the ruler could change the column selection.
