If I have opened a Shared Network Folder on my company intranet using a UNC path in Windows Explorer, and if I then open a text file using EmEditor and the Explorer plug-in is enabled, EmEditor waits until the Explorer plug-in has mapped the file to the network share. This experience is much like Network Discovery…it maps all the first level computers on the intranet and displays them. This process can take up to a minute, and it blocks the file from being opened immediately.
Once the network is mapped, files open immediately.
Any way to disable this network discovery behavior?
If the plug-in is disabled, the file opens immediately…but I would prefer to have the plug-in activated, since the majority of my work does not use the network shares.
