When you try to open a file containing “weird characters” (for example null-bytes) in EmEditor, a dialog is immediately presented to the user for choosing a suitable encoding to use for viewing the file.
If you dismiss this dialog (e.g. by pressing the escape key), EmEditor immediately crashes and exits.
