    This message contains changelog regarding v24.5 preview. The information is being updated as more preview versions are released.

    To update

    If you use the installer version, please select Customize Update Checker on the Help menu, and set the Include preview versions in order to update automatically to future preview versions. Preview versions can also be downloaded at Previous versions.

    To access AI features, you’ll need to download the ChatAI plug-in. Unfortunately, AI features aren’t supported on either the 32-bit or the Store version of EmEditor.

    preview 1 (24.9.901) – February 22, 2025

    – All AI-related features have been removed from EmEditor Professional. To continue using these features, you need to install the ChatAI plug-in separately. Once the ChatAI plugin is installed, all AI-related commands will be grouped and displayed in the AI menu.
    – A new HD checkbox has been added to the New Prompt dialog and the AI Prompt page in the Customize dialog when Image is selected for Output. If the HD checkbox is not selected, images will be generated at normal resolution.
    – In Markdown Design View, HTML tags in the source text are now displayed as they are. Additionally, character references and numeric character references are now correctly decoded and shown.
    – You can now stack multiple custom bars. Buttons at the bottom of the custom bar allows you to quickly switch between them.
    – The Very Dark option is turned on by default. When the Dark Mode is enabled in Windows, EmEditor’s menus, toolbars, and other elements will automatically display in dark mode.
    – Fixed display issues in Dark Mode for the CommitList plug-in and others.
    – Resolved issues with focus settings in the CommitList plug-in.
    – Fixed issues with importing/exporting marker lists.
    – Addressed a design inconsistency in the Markdown Design View between large and small icon toolbars.
    – Fixed issues related to saving the cursor position.
    – Fixed a layout issue that could occur when closing a split window if document tabs are in the Button style.
    – Fixed issues reported by customers (1,2,3).

    preview 2 (24.9.902) – February 25, 2025

    – Added the Markdown to HTML, HTML to Markdown, Markdown to Plain Text, HTML to Plain Text commands.
    – Added the Create New Document command to the context menu in the Chat with AI custom bar.
    – The new version removes older installers from the downloads folder during updates.

    preview 3 (24.9.903) – February 28, 2025

    • When you click the button next to the Find drop-down list on the Find toolbar, we’ve added new commands to this menu: Selected Text or Word at Cursor, Selected Text, Word at Cursor, Last Used Value, Fixed Value, and Auto Save. By default, using the Set Focus to Find Toolbar command (Ctrl+D) sets the search string to either the selected text or the word at the cursor position. If you prefer the previous setting, choose Last Used Value. [P]
    • Added a Synchronize with Find command to the menu that appears when you click the button next to the Replace drop-down list on the Find toolbar. [P]
    • You can now easily register a macro file by simply dragging and dropping it onto a basic toolbar, as long as the file has a .jsee or .vbee extension. If the macro file isn’t already in My Macros, it will be added automatically. [P]
    • The gpt-4.5-preview model was added to the Preferred Model list box in the AI Options page of the Customize dialog box (ChatAI plug-in). [P]
    • Created an installer for the ChatAI plug-in.

    – Fixed conversion commands between HTML, Markdown, and plain text.

    – Fixed the update checker.

    preview 6 (24.9.906) – March 3, 2025

    – Fixed HTML/Markdown conversion commands.

    preview 7 (24.9.907) – March 4, 2025

    – Previous versions disable line wrapping when very long lines are present. This version removes the limitation.
    – Fixed ChatAI plugin installer issues.
    – Fixed the toolbars in Dark mode.
    – Fixed customer reported issue.
