    To update

    If you use the installer version, please select Customize Update Checker on the Help menu, and set the Include preview versions in order to update automatically to future preview versions. Preview versions can also be downloaded at Previous versions.

    preview 1 (24.4.901) – October 22, 2024

    – Enhanced the Undo speed after performing a “Replace All” action, even when newlines are involved.

    preview 2 (24.4.902) – November 19, 2024

    – Added a Proxy page to the Customize dialog box. [P]
    – Resolved a crash in the Find feature when the “Additional Lines to Search for Regular Expression” setting was excessively large.
    – Made adjustments for the “Yu Gothic” font.
    – Fixed an issue with the Filter toolbar where the “Abort Filter” during incremental search did not scroll to the selected item.
    – Resolved a crash in version 24.4.901 that occurred when sorting a very large file from A-Z.
    – Fixed a potential crash related to DirectWrite.
    – Addressed a potential crash during printing.
    – Resolved a recurring crash when loading a workspace.
    – Fixed a potential crash when clicking the “Find Next” button on the Find toolbar, especially when the “Search All Documents in Group” option is enabled and a window is split.
    – Fixed a bug where encountering a macro error would cause the cursor to jump to the wrong line in v24.4.x.
    – Fixed a crash in the “Replace All” function when dealing with newlines in a very large file.
    – Ensured that Indent Guides are shown on empty lines.

    preview 3 (24.4.903) – November 27, 2024

    – Added the AI Assist page to configuration properties. [P]
    – Fixed a bug present since v22.4 where EmEditor could read duplicate lines when opening very large files on a slower hard drive with disk caching enabled.
    – Fixed an issue where replacing with “\J” caused an error.
    – Fixed an issue where the file size wasn’t displayed immediately after opening a file.
    – Set a maximum limit of 10,000,000 to the Additional Lines to Search for Regular Expressions text box in the Advanced dialog box.

    preview 4 (24.4.904) – December 2, 2024

    – Added the Verify command on the File menu. [P]
    – Added the Verify files immediately after opening and Display verification results only if there is a failure check boxes to the File page of the Customize dialog box. [P]
    – Added Proxy Settings hyperlink to the Register Product dialog box. [P]
    – Fixed a bug where the Remove Unnecessary Quotes command could remove quotes even if a delimiter was at the end of a cell.
    – The new version displays a message if there is an internal inconsistency in the file size.
    – Fixed a potential crash when hovering over a link if Markdown special syntax is enabled.

    preview 5 (24.4.905) – December 5, 2024

    – I have added the << and >> buttons to the large file controller. Clicking the >> button opens the next location without exceeding the currently open size. Clicking the << button returns to the location before the >> button was clicked (1).
    – Added a PROXY option to the desktop installer.
    – Resolved an issue that could cause a crash when the dialog box contained NULL or invalid characters.
    – Fixed a bug that could lead to a crash related to the scrollbar Minimap.

    preview 6 (24.4.906) – December 7, 2024

    – Improved the Large File Controller.
    – The Chat with AI window no longer sends immediately upon pasting.
    – Optimized some commands including the Batch Replace in Files command for speed.

    preview 7 (24.4.907) – December 8, 2024

    – Enhanced the speed of opening very large files.
    – Resolved a potential crash that could occur when saving a very large file while using an IME.

    preview 8 (24.4.908) – December 9, 2024

    – Improved the speed of opening and saving very large files.
    – Resolved an issue where dragging a button from the Markers toolbar to the editor failed to insert text.

    preview 9 (24.4.909) – December 10, 2024

    – You can now drag and drop a button from the Macros toolbar to the basic toolbars.
