Today, we are releasing EmEditor Professional v13 beta 7 (12.9.6).

Updates from beta 6 include:
– Cut Bookmarked Lines, Copy Bookmarked Lines, and Select Bookmarked Lines commands were added.
– The Prompt when End of Document is Reached check box was added to the Search tab of the Customize dialog box.
– The Save Settings check box was added to the Open dialog box.
– When a user clicks on the left edge or the line numbers, a menu related to bookmarks appears now.
– Fixed other bugs.

Notes:

Since this is a beta version, there might be some bugs left, and that is normal. Only English and Japanese user interfaces are up-to-date. The Help is not up-to-date.

This beta release can be tried with a registration key for v12. Registration keys for v13 will be different from the keys for v12. When v13 is released, some customers will need to purchase upgrades. If you purchase v12 now, you will receive a free key for v13 when v13 is released.

The Prompt when End of Document is Reached check box was added to the Search tab of the Customize dialog box.

I was surprised to see this, as it was a minor issue and there’s a whole bunch of other stuff in this beta already.

I have customized my status bar to I can see the selected Number of Characters and the Number of Lines.

If I select any number of lines by clicking and/or dragging in the left column it shows the correct number of characters and lines. However, if I then shift-click some line further down on the page to enlarge the selection, the number of characters and lines in the status do not change.

Edit: This also applies for any existing selection being expanded with shift-click.

Edit 2: On a similar but different note, if I create multiple selections, the status bar shows the char/line count of selection added last. (not sure this is a bug or by design)

and if you add a word to multiple selections by ctrl-clicking, the status bar char/line count is not updated either, this is quite comfusing. :-D
