EmEditor Professional v10 RC 3 (9.90.12) is available for download.

Updates from RC 2 include:

– Disabled the registration key validation with the Emurasoft server via the Internet.

It is recommended that you uninstall previous v9 before you install a new version.

This RC version requires you to enter a registration key for v10. Please go to Emurasoft Customer Center https://www.emurasoft.com/support/ , and go to Purchase History to request a new registration key for v10.

This version expires on May 31, 2010. Before this date, you will need to update to then newer version, or purchase the release version.

Supported OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 SP4/Server 2008/Server 2003

The portable version can be produced from the Import/Export wizard on the Tools menu after you use the installer. However, the portable version runs slower than the one using the Registry.

My RC2 found a new version and suggested to update it automatically. I agreed, and while downloading was in progress I noticed a new absolutely empty “icon” in the system tray with tooltip “(N\%) Downloading Updates for EmEditor Professional”. Why is the icon empty?

It looks that an icon is missing from the Updater application (included in Advanced Installer). I will report this bug to the installer developer if this problem persists.

Dear Yutaka,

Thank you very much for making the desktop icon creation, optional.

With regard to keyboard access and default buttons, the following items remain:
– the installer does not support pressing Alt+a to select Accept in the license agreement screen;
– Help > Check for updates: the OK button isn’t focused by default, necessitating an additional Tab before Enter will close the dialog box.

The installer version has not been changed since the last version. The Installer Developer told me that the next version of the Installer will fix these issues, but I don’t know when the next Installer version will become available. Thanks for your patience!

No, this is not a part of EmEditor. This dialog box is a part of the installer program I use.
