Why if I have the escape sequence set to on in the replace dialog I get text
test.test.test.com
replaced with
testest1
when my search text is test.test.test.com and the replacement is testest1 ?
According to the help card only the following are treated as escape sequences:
a Warning (Bell)
b Backspace
f Form feed
n New line
t Horizontal tab
v Vertical tab
Backslash
oooooo Unicode character in octal notation
xhhhh Unicode character in hexadecimal notationFebruary 22, 2013 at 6:45 pm #10852Yutaka EmuraKeymasterHi ArthurZ,
I am sorry I didn’t understand your question.
Can you please try to rewrite with a simple sample, or you can email me at [email protected] with samples. Thanks!

test.test.test.com
into a new text file.
2) Have the search-replace dialog set to use the option “Use Escape Sequence” on.
3) Attempt to replace the text with: testest1Expected result: testest1
The actual result: testest1

e is not defined, so undefined escape sequences should not be used. Please use “e” instead.
Thanks!
