We are excited to announce that EmEditor Professional 8 is compatible with Windows 7 beta. We recently tested EmEditor Professional with Windows 7 beta, and found no problems. However, please note that the “View Source” feature of Internet Explorer 8 in Windows 7 does not display source files with EmEditor. Internet Explorer 8 will display the source files with an Internet Explorer 8 window. We will do more research on this issue.

– The Project plug-in now works with Ctags to create symbol lists, and allows you to jump to the symbol definition with the F12 key, and go back with the Ctrl + * (shortcuts are customizable). See screenshot.

Kown bug: This version cannot initiate box selection with ALT + mouse drag. You can still use CTRL + SHIFT + F8 to start keyboard box selection. The bug will be fixed by the next minor version.

– Word Count plug-in can now display more information using the Custom Bar. The plug-in can now count the number of characters, width (count in half-width characters), lines, and also allows you to customize character types by specifying regular expressions.
