    It adds a small bar on at the top of the vertical scroll bar and on the right of the horizontal scrollbar. If you grab it with the mouse, you can slide a splitter bar down in that tab and see two views of the same document. The scrollbars must be visible.

    You can edit in independent areas, the changes will be visible in both sections. It is editor-tab specific. Splitting one file in a tab has no affect on other tabs. As far as I can tell, you can not use it to see two files on the same tab – the same file is visible on each side of the split, but sometimes it really helps to be able to see two separate areas of the same file.

    Other editers have similiar features. For example, MS Word (http://techwelkin.com/ms-word-how-to-split-a-document-in-two-windows), Excel, and Ultraedit.

    Also thanks for the link to Word-split function. Learned something new (also some new shortcuts, great!)

     

    Also thank to The stardust Kanata for making that plugin.

     
    Only I don’t get it working on 15.1.2, 32-bit portable
    – copy SplitBox.dll to plugin folder
    – launch EmEditor
    – Tools > Plugins > Customize Plugins > Add > SplitBox.dll
    I see now Tools > Plugins > <some japanisch words (Split box reset)>, but I can’t enable the plugin.
    It just does nothing after clicking on it. I don’t see that little handles on the scroll bars.
     
    Any help?
    Any change to translate it to English?

    Plugin doesn’t work on a full x64 installation in Windows 8.1
    Nor does it work in a portable x68 setup…
    And the readme is Korean or Japanese only ^^

    Ok works now that I had an English instruction for the installation.
    Seems more steps have to be done than just to drop the DLL into the plugin folder and hope it starts automatically.
